Evening Stab Office, Thursday afternoon. The clearing out sale at the stores of Messrs. W. Greigg and Co., by Mr. W. Q-. Binney, to-day, was well attended by the trade, and medium prices were obtained for parcels, small lots bringing fair prices. Mr. S. Jones held an extensive sale of groceries, oilmen's stores, &c., to-day. There was a good attendance, and a considerable number of lines were quitted at the following prices : —Brandon's candles, boxes, lid to Is 4fdj soap, half-cwt. boxes, 25s 9J to 27s 3d; oatmeal, 2Gs; Ogleby'scandle^boxps, lid to Hid; teas, half-chesta, Is 7£d; pekoe, boxe?, 2s Bd, half ■ chests, Is 7d ; Copland's pickles, 10a 6d; Hill and Ledger's ditto, 9s 3d ; bottled fruits, 14s 6d. Bryce's jams, 7s; marmalade, 9s 3d ; Young's paraffin candles, 11 Jd ; Pott's table vinegar, in bulk, 2s 3d; McAvoy's tobacco, 9jd ; pickles, pints, 7s ; fresh herrings, 7» 3d ; potted ditto, 7s 3d ; Scotch sardines, 10s 6d ; lobsters, 9s 6d; sardines, choice, quarters, 6s 8d ; castor oil, 6s 3d ; butter, 8d to 9d.
Mr. B. Tonks sold at his mart, to day, a quantity of unredeemed pledges, and obtained satisfactory prices.
