Evening- Star Office,

Friday afternoon

Mr. S. Jones held a sale of fruit, jams, &c, per Bella Mary, from Hobart Town.- There was a very good attendance, and bidding throughout was very spirited. The apples, of which there were various sorts, fetched as high as 4id. The Hobart Town jams in lb., tins, realised 7s 6d. The same firm also quitted a good few lines of groceries, maize, &c, at satisfactory prices. Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son held a sale of paraffin candles, furniture, &c, at their mart to-day, and obtained satisfactory prices.

Mr. L. W. Eaton reports having sold today the entire cargo of fruit, per Isabella, from Borotonga, consisting of oranges and cocoanuts, at the following rates : —Oranges, 10id per doz'en ; cocoanuts, 10£ d per dozen ; also smoked mullet, 2s 9d per dozen ; butter, lOrrd ; onions, l£d.
