The enterprising proprietor has, at considerable expense and trouble, been iv receipt of all ( the latest American Australian papers-and periodicals, and on placing them on the tables for the use of all, it is indeed a shame that such things should be stolen, by such pctfyfogging scamps, for they deserve no other name. Mr. Perkins has offered a reward for the conviction of the •thief, or thieves, and we trust, ere long, we may me able to bring to justice, and punish, those who are guilty of such a base action.
, Mr. Spurgeon who is famed for his quaintness, described Mr. MacGregor of the " Rob Roy, "the other evening, as " one who can serve his God, " and at the same time "paddle his own canoe." There are thirty murderesses in the Michigan penitentiary, many of whom are said to be " positively beautiful." Pennsylvania has a pedagogue 96 years old. He is one of tho old masters.
