ARRIVAL OF THE COMERANG.
The fine cattle steamer Comeraug, Captain Thomas Chrisp, arrived- in harbour yesterday afternoon from Napier, via the East Coast, bringing a cargo of cattle and Bheep iv fine condition. The Comerang left Napier oi Thursday last, at 9 a.m., and arrived at Poverty Bay on Friday, at 5 a.m. In going into tho liver she met with an accident which might, had bad weather continued, have been serious. After crossing the bar a heavy sea frtraek her and carried her out of the channel on to a sand bank, where she remained for two tides ; at the third tide, however, she was got off, and proceeded up the river. She left Poverty Bay at 5 p.m. on Monday, and experienced fine weather to White Island, thence heary N.E. gales till arrival in port. PASSENcraas.—Capt.
