ARRIVAL OF THE TARANAKI.
The fine s.s. Tarara''i, E- Wheeler, Esq., commander, arrived in harbour this morning from Southern ports. She left Port Chalmo* at 3 p.m. on the 19th instant, and arrive ' Xyttelton at 10 a.m. 20th ; left-Lyttelto . . 9 p.m. same day, and arrived at Wellington at 3.80 p.m. 21st.; i left Wellington at 4.45 p.m. 22nd,-and arrived at Hawke's Bay a. 3.30 p.m. 23rd;; left .Hawke's Bay at 9.30 a.m. 24th, and arrived at Auckland at 6.30 sm. 26th. .From Port Chalmers to Lyttelton bad light variable winds and smooth water, thence to Hawke's Bay fresh northerly winds with heavy,head sea. Owing to the heavy swell in Hawke's Bay the lighter could not fat outside .to tranship, the cargo. From Tapier to East Cape strong northerly winds with sudden squalls and rain ; hove ship to for two hours .off East Cape till gale moderated, thehce to Auckland strong S.W. winds and heavy ci_p?s-sea.. • PASSiNGBt's^-r-Mrs. and Master Cashmere, Hiss Clayton, Messrs.
