DBT7NKENNESS.
The usual penalty of 5s fine, or 24 hours' imprisonment, "was inflicted on J. Sharp, A. Waugh, D. Quin, J. Cookson, H. Dickie, and J. KineaUy, for drunkenness ; and of 10s fine, or 48 hours' imprisonment, on L. Hughe?, for a second offence.
ABSCONDING APPRENTICE,
James Callaghan, charged by G-. Eraser, of IVaser and Tinne, with absconding from his apprenticeship, on 19th July, and endeavouring to leave by the ' Kate,' for Sydney, pleaded guilty. Mr. Weston, for complainant, did not desire a heavy penalty.
Cautioned and discharged, AS3ATJIT.
James Walter Knight was charged by Margaret Knight with having violently assaulted her, on the 18th July.
Pleaded guilty,
Mr. Wynn, for complainant, did not press for a penalty, and the Bench ordered defendant to pay costs, and give securities himself in £50, and two sureties of £25 each, to'keep the psaoe for six months. The Court then rose.
