(Before J. Naughton, T. Kitchie, G-. B. Owen, and J. Newman, Esqs., J.Ps.) DBXJITKBSKE3S. James Bi-idie and G-eorgc Smith were each foi1 this fined 03. and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours. MALICIOUS INJrBT TO PKOPEBTY. Walton Poll was charged with having on on the 15th July, wantonly and maliciously broken trees in the Domain. Mr. Sheehan for the prosecution. Prisoner pleaded guilty, but evidence was taken to show the character of the case. Robert Hay wood deposed: I reside at Par- ■ noil. About twelve on the 15th I was coming through the Domain, when I saw a lot of trees broken and tho prisoner sitting. I turned back again to have a look, and saw Lim breaking a Cyprus tree, it was bent right dowu, and lie was breaking it-; he said, he was breaking it off for a walking-stick; the-;e was a lot of trees broken, Piues, Oule, &c. It was a Cyprus 10 or 15 feet high, lliey were all English trees that had been planted. Sentenced to bo imprisoned 3 months with hard labor. A charge of non-payment of wages, and two gold-mining eases, being for claims for calls, brought by Mr. Otway, Olticiul Agent, were dismissed, on account of uon-appearanco of the parties. The Court then rose.
