HAVANA.
Havana, June 2.—Another Spanish column killed 35 rebels and captured 30, and a large quantity of arms. Nine Spanish columns are operating in the insurgent districts. Havana, June sth.—The Captain-General telegraphs that the fillibustering expedition from New York on the steamer Upton disembarked at Puerto Braba, a few miles east of Neuvitas, and was attacked by the Spaniards, 100 strong, assisted by two gunboats, and dispersed, losing ten killed, including Captain Harrison. 'Two were drowned and three taken pi-isoners. A steam launch, rubber rafts and tho entire cargo of arms, ammunition and medicine which had been landed, wore captured, with some correspondence. j The Spanish naval commander telegraphs that the munitions captured consist of two tons of powder, over 100,000 cartridges and 1,800 rifles. Cismaros, who commanded the expedition, has sailed on tho Upton, with the balauce of the cargo, for Colombia, to bring back the expedition of 200 Colombians, New Yoek, June 7th. —The British .Consul at Havana has received a telegram that- the armed steamer Chieftain has left London ostensibly for Japan, but really to assist the Cubans.
Advices from the Cuban Junta say that on tho 28th ult., tho battalion San Quenton started in-combination with'two gunboats"" to capture the Upton expedition, which was safely landed'five days previously. '
The Spanish column has been attacked by tho rebels, who were in ambush- hear Sierra de Cubetas. The rebels were defeated and fled, leaving twelve dead, including two chiefs. Fourteen insurgents were killed in another engagement, and' twelve more in another attack on a fort garrisoned by colored troops; who lost three killed and six wound. '•-'
