IMITATING TRADE MARKS.
Anotheb case of fraudulent imitation of a trade mark has been heard in the District Court. Jabez Wheeler, of Latrobe-street east, was summoned for having sold, or caused to be sold, since the Ist inst., 12 bottles purporting to contain Dublin stout, together with a forged or counterfeited trade mark of Messrs Blood, Wolf, and Co., knowing it to be forged or counterfeited. In the false label the word "Flood" was substituted for " Blood," and the letter "W" in the centre for " Z," but the general appearance of the false label was very similar to that of the genuine one. There were two labels on the counterfeit stout, and only one on the genuine. The Bench held that there was a colourable imitation, and fined the defendant £5, with five guineas costs, and Bd, the price of the bottle of stout. Notice of appeal was made. .___, ■ •____
