THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT.
I TiiE.finaneiiil policy of the Government, will I be discussed this evening in the House of; Representatives. It has been announced, with ; that truth we are nob in a position to state, -\ that the coalition of Auckland members under \ the leadership of Mr. Gillies and Mr. Reader \ Wood, do not intend to oppose the financial! policy, but merely to discuss it on its merits, j What has led to this result it is hard to conjecture, but the probability is that the favourable manner in ■which the statement is viewed by the leading Southern journals has had something to do with the determination. !
