MR. S. HAGUE SMITH.

On Friday, in a small paragraph, we staled thatone of our principal merchants in Queen-street had suspended payments ; and it is with much gratification that we have learned that, at a meeting of creditors this morning, the gentleman referred to (Mr. S. Hague Smith) made certain proposals, which have been accepted almost unanimously, and that matters have been satisfactorily arranged. From the statement of accounts submitted, it appears that in January, 1867. Mr. Smith had a balance in his favor of £22,838, and that, his loses wince have amounted to £33,106, his loses since i hri-tmas alone having amounted to £11 244. It appears that the total amount of liabilities is £29,000, and .that- after paying off mortgages the assets are valued at £21,000. There was a very full attendance of creditors, and warm sympathy was generally expressed Tor Mr. smith. .
