POLICE COURT.—Monday.
(Before D. B. Thornton, Esq., and A. K. Tay- ! lor, Esq., J'JB.'s. DBTTNKENNESS. Benjamin Burns, for a first offence of drunkenness, was fined 5s and costs, or to be imprisoned for 24 hours, and Jessie Bell, fora second offence, was fined 10a and costs, or to be imprisoned for 48 hours with hard labour. MERCHANT SHIPPING- ACT, 1854. Peter Wilson was charged by Captain Larock of the Schiehallion, barque, with having been guilty of disobedience to his lawful orders, on the 10th of June. Mr. Bennett appeared for the defendant, and pleaded guilty, expressing great regret. Capt:in Larock stated that it was the first offence for Wilson, and he would be willing to take him back. The Court ordered that he should be put on board. XABCENY. Francis Falcon was brought up charged with having stolen from Henry Probert, china, furniture, &c, to the value of £100, and on a second charge of having stolen from Winks and Hall,.cavpets and other items of furniture to the value of £50. Joseph Harper, who was originally included in the charge of stealing, was, on the request of Mr. Broham, discharged, and the cases against Falcon were remanded till Monday next. The Court then rose.
