REPORTED GOLD AT THE WAIROA.

A gentleman in town has informed us that he has in his possession a quantity of auriferous stone, which was discovered upon a block of land belonging to Mr. W. T. Buckland. Mr. ./. 3. Wilson has discovered a reef of about five feet in thickness, which he states to be goldbearing throughout, and which is situated in land of his owu. Mr. Wilson had an interview with his Honor the Superintendent and Dr. Pollen, and we believe that some land which was for sale iv the district has been withdrawn. The prospectors met with a favourable reception from the Government, and will doubtless prosecute their researches.
