We learn that the p.s. * Eoyal Alfred' will take the place of the p.s. ' Duke of Edinburgh;' during her overhaul, commencing to-morrow (Thursday) evening, at 8 o'clock, from the wharf (Auckland) to Grahams-town.

The, monthly muster of the' Auckland Naval and Artillery Yoluriteiers wiU be held at Fort Britomart sit seven o'clock t/*!-morrow evening. Claims in the estate of Solomon Shep* pere are requested to be proved with Thomas Macfihrlarie, Esq.,"on or before the 17th instant, when a dividend will be paid.

An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders.,of the, Auckland Consolidated Gold Mining Cotbpany was held la3t evening, at the Star Hotel, Albertstreet, when the resolution passed at the last meeting, for the voluntary liquidation of tbe company, was confirmed. The company will accordingly be wound up forthwith.

A lecture,, entitled "Incidents of a visit to America during the late war," will be delivered on' Friday evening next, by Mr. J. J. JNeaye, at the rooms of tbe Young Men's Christian Association.
