LATEST FROM OHINEMURI.
By the arrival of a boat from the Upper Thames last night, we have learned a few items of news respecting the state of affairs at Ohinemuri. The investigation into the title of the Owhavoa block of land waa concluded yesterday, and we are informed the decision of the court was in favour of the Wahi natives. Upon the conclusion of the case Harapipipi gave a long address to those natives present, during which he commented on the evidence given at the Court, and the gentlemen who conducted the case for the nativ< s. A large muster of natives came from Wahi yesterday forenoon, and as soon as they came in sight of the landing place, announced their preence by firing guns and shouting in a most frantic manner. The Europeans present could not at first devine what was the matter, but it turned out that they were showing their joy in haying been successful in gaining the title to the disputed block of land.— Thames Evening Star, June 2.
