Last night a meeting was held at the Mechanics' Institute of gentlemen interested in getting up a series of entertainments in connectiou with that establishment. After considerable discussion, a> eommitteo was appointed to cooperate with the sub-committee of the Institute to prepare a programme for the first evening's entertainment, and to make all necessary arrangements therewith, and to report to next meeting on the'evening of the 26th instant.
