INSULTING I4NGUAGKE. D. Atkinson, charged with using insulting language by H. Harris, being called, did not appear. Service of summons, in due form, left with his sister, over fourteen years of age, was proved by Constable Halloran, and a warrant was ordered to issue for his arrest. EOBBEBY ntOM THE PEBSON. Thomas Kane and James Herbert we.ro charged by James Heriot with having, on the 17th May, at the Oddfellows' Arms Hotel, Chancery-street, feloniously stolen and taken away from his person one purse, containing 15 shillings. James Heriot deposed: lam a leaman. Was yesterday evening in Chaucery-street, beside the bar of the Oddfellowi' Arms; saw Tom Kane, one of the prisoners there. He put his hand in my pocket, and I muzzled him. He was too strong for me, and put me down. He took out my purse, which contained from 15s. to £1 in silver. The purse produced is the one taken, and is nay property. Prisoner robbed me of it.

To prisoner : To my knowledge did not ask you to toss for drinks. I did not throw my purse on the counter. John Grribble deposed : I am a shipwright, residing in Barrack-street. Was in Mr. Bacon's public-house yesterday on the occasion referred to. Saw last witness there, and also the two men at the bar. Saw Kane put his hand into prosecutor's pocket, and take his purse out; he then handed it behind his back to Herbert, who broke the string and took money out of it, then handed the purse again to Kane. The prosecutor caught hold of Kane, who flung the purse on the counter, threw down Heriot, and ran out. I took the purse, and gave it to the detective. To prisoner : Prosecutor did not ask you to toss for drinks. You threw the purse on the counter. There were two or three drunk knocking about. The purse produced is the one taken from prosecutor. Detective Ternahan, deposed; I ai-rested the prisoners yesterday on the charge of stealing some money and the purse produced. I found on Kane Is. lid., and on Herbert 7s lOd. The purse was identified at once by the prosecutor. Know the prisoners, they have been often in this Court; Herbert has been here for vagrancy, and Kane is a constant companion of thieves and prostitutes.

Sentenced to be imprisoned for three months with hard labour, the money found on their persons to be given over to prosecutor. ITTNACY. Thomas Wormall, remanded from yesterday, was on the medical evidence of Doctors Bayntim and Stookwell, ordered to be sent to the Lunatic Asylum. The Court then rose.
