SAFETY OF THE CHARLES EDWARD.

We learn from Captain Kennedy of the s.s. Airedale, that the s.s. Charles Edward, supposed to have been lost, has arrived at Nelson. No particulars have been received, only that the engines broke down and she drifted off the land. She was sighted off Cape Farewell by the s.s. | Rangitoto. The following telegram was received at Wanganui by Captain Carey, from Messrs. Edwards and Co., of the s.s. John Perm, with reference to this vessel: — "In Bay, Lady Barkley just gone out for her."
