April 22nd 1870. [Advertisement.] PERSEVERANCE IS THE SOUL OF SUCCESS. To the Editob. Dear Sib, —I am really in earnest about this Bagged School affair; and, upon enquiry, I learn that the school, bearing this name, is ashamed of it, the house in which it is held unsuitable, and altogether too small to receive the expected ingathering of poor children ; the writer is, therefore, on the look-out for a place more adapted. One of the unoccupied houses in the Barrack Square would be desirable if leave could be obtained from Government. In the meantime I intend (D.V.) to assemble as many as I can in my own house at Newton ; in the morning at nine, afternoon at three, where the children may see some of the prizes—between ten and twelve —any day, _ except Sunday, consisting of carpenters' tools and gardners' im plements, books, furniture, chinaware, clothing, and ornaments. Not less than ten prizes, some of which have to be made up from the log at the Mill, or wrought from bright gold lying yet in the hill. With each prize one golden image, valuo 205., will be given. The images may be seen at Mr. Major's, Wellesley-street. Those of our brethren and sisters of every denomination, who are willing to engage in this good work as teachers, will please assemble at my house, Newton, on Saturday evening next.
