ARRIVAL OF THE WANGANUI.
THi? LAND SALE AT PA.TEA. By the arrival of the s.s. Wanganui in th# Manukau we are placed in possession of files of the Chronicle to the 3rd hißtant, which paper, we understand, has passed into the hands of Mr. Henry Anderson, late editor of the Wellington Independent. -°r. Patea, Monday, 7.55 p.m. Land sale to-d\v was finished about four o'clock. Two hundred and fifty sections were offered, of which about one hundred and ten were sold, realizing close upon £2,070. Suburban lots realized about £3,000. Competition was brisk in some cases. All improved sections were bought by their present owners at the upset prices. Suburban lots went off particularly well; some of them running as high as ten pounds per acre.
