ARRIVAL OF THE KATE WATERS.

This fine barque, in command of our old friend, Captain J. B. Sherlock, arrived in harbour this morning, after a capital passage of 09 days, bringing a very large cargo of general merchandise, from London. Tho Kate Waters sailed from London Docks on the 22nd January, and passed through the Downs the same clay. Passed the Start Point on the 23r I, and had moderate N.W. and W. winds to Madeira. January 31—Lay becalmed for three days in sight of the island. Got the N.E. trades in 28 deg., and carried them to 8 deg. north on the 12th February. The usual variable winds and calms were then met with to tho Equator, which was crossed ia 22 deg. W. i n the 20th Fobruary. Took the S.E. trades on the Line, and carried them very light to 23 deg. south. Sighted Trinadad on February 28th. and Tristan d'Acunha March 11. Moderate westerly winds and fine weather prevailed from this to rounding Tasmania, April 20th. Since that time to 28th E. N.E. winds and dirty weather, ending in a very heavy blow at E.N.E., was experienced. Ran tho easting down between .46 deg. and 43 cleg. Sighted Three Kings May Ist. Fresh southerly winds on the coast. Passenghe.—Miss Hughes. Vessels signalled and spoken by the Kate Waters : February 25, American ship War Hawk, from San Francisco, for New York, 11.13 S., 29.14 W. ; March 2, Austrian brig Siava, 25.25 S., 29.14 W.; March 6, British --hip Wayfarer, from London, for Calcutta, 29.41 S., 25.30 W., 47 days out; March 7, British barque Hatworth, from London, for Brisbane, 31.44 S. 25.43 .W., 7G days out, had experience I heavy weatlrlr, all well; March 8, British ship Ire3hope, from Newcastle, for Calcutta, 33.26 S., 24.19 W., 50 days out; March 14, spoke British barque Beatrice, from Liverpool, for Adelaide, 37.4 S., 6.59 W, 56 days out; March 14, Spanish barque Papita, from Bilboa, for Manilla, 37.4 S., 6.59 W., 57 days out; March 14, British ship Joshua, frora_Liverpool, for Madras, 37.4 S., 6.59 W., 54 days out;

March 20, British barque -Gloucester, from London, for Wellington, 41, 51 S., 14.20 E., 60 days out.
