GUNNEDAH, April 26. ■ Tho liver commenced rising on Sunday I morning, and by 12 o'clock: on Monday night I it had risen over fifty feet. ROCKHAMPTON, April 22. Alderman L. Davies has been committed for trial on a charge of mudering his wife. He came home drunk and beat her with a thick .tick. The inedieal evidence tends to the conclusion . that death was not caused by a particular blow, but through the shock to the nervous system. The prisoner made no concealment. When asked if he had any statement to make he became much agitated, could not speak, and fell back in the clock ; his wife was not a temperate woman.
