POLICE COURT.— This Day.

(Bafore A. Clark, Esq., and W. T. Buckland, v Esq., J.P.s.) DBTTNKENNESS.

Eobert Heaton, charged with this offence, did not appear, and forfeited bail.

VAGRANCY. John Morgan was charged with a breach of the Vagrant Act, 1866, by having no lawful visible means of support.—Pleaded guilty. — Mr. Naughton stated that this case was a melancholy one. Prisoner was a good tradesman, but had been convicted fourteen times before of various offences. —Sentenced to three months' imprisonment, with hard labor.

BREACH OF THE MUNICIPAL POLICE ACT.

John Phalan, charged with a breach of this Act, by driving, in Queen-street, on the 23rd April, a cart without the name of the owner legibly being painted on it. —Pleaded guilty, and was fined ss. and costs. John Thurston, charged with a breach of the same Act, by allowing his chimney to get on fire on April 28, and pleaded guilty, was fined 10s. and costs. BEEACH OF THE IMPOUNDING- ACT. John Handcock Jacques was charged with a breach of this Act, by allowing a horse to stray about in Queen-street on April 25.—Pleaded guilty, and was fined ss. and costs. Hezelriah Mason was charged with allowing a horse to stray about in Nelson-street on Sunday, April 24.—Pleaded guilty, and was fined ss. and costs.

Leigh Dennis was charged with allowing a horse to stray in Queen-street on April 24.— Pleaded guilty, and fined ss. and costs.
