FURTHER DISASTROUS NEWS FROM WEST MAITLAND.

The train has just arrived from Maitland bringing very bad new?. The river is still rising at Morpeth and Maitland, and more than°half the later fawn is under water ; the whole of and the .embankments are overtopped, and several nouses have been swept away. The next tram will only go as far as Hexham.
