WITHDRAWAL OF TROOPS FROM THE COLONIES.
The battalions which will be brought home from abroad at the commencement of the next financial year will be the Ist battalion 19fch Repmcnt, the 2nd battalion 11th Regiment, and the 2nd battalion 20th Regiment, from the Cape of Good Hope ; the 2nd battalion 14th Regiment, which is now on passage home from Australia ; the Ist battalion 15th Regiment from Bermuda; tie Ist battalion 16th Regiment from. Halifax; the 2nd battalion 18fch Regiment, from New Zealand; and the Ist battalion Rifle Brigade, from Canada. None of these will be relieved. In consequence of the withdrawal of the troops from Australia, the whole staff in that colony will be reduced.. Notwithstanding the reductions, no regimental officers, whose corps are not wholly' disbanded will be placed ou half-pay.
