CITY BOARD.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the City Board of Commissioners was held at the office, Canada Buildings, yesterday afternoon, at 2 o'clock.. Present—Messrs. Philips (chairman), Bugden, George, Finlay, and Asher. On account of its! being a public holiday it was resolved to postpone the formal business until tomorrow. Tho accounts were passed, however, the wages cheques signed, and the following, tenders for improvements in Wel-lington-street were opened: — Alexander Fraser, £77 55.; Nelson Ireland, £53 ; Allan Maguire, £72 10s.; Abel Fletcher, £48 ; and Abraham Fletcher, £45. The last-named tender was accepted. The Board then adjourned.
