TARANAKI.

There is no news of importance from Taranalii. The Opunake Flax Company have commenced operations. The contractor has been prevented from commencing to build the bridge over Stony River, through the interference of some natives. Mr. Grey, who was employed to cut the embankment, was ordered to stop, and he has consequently come into town. The Civil Commissioner, who has gone to Waingongoro on business connected with the road-making, will, it is hoped, be able to make such arrange-, ments as to provent further interruption for the future.
