NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. j 7 %M0« FEW ZEALAND TELEGRAPH. 1 TENDERS are invited for the SUPPLY and DELIVERY of 1,800 TELEGRAPH POSTS, more or less, between Tauranga and Lake Taupo. The Posts to be sawn out of the heart of Totara ; to be perfectly free from sap, shake's, and loose knots. N.B.—Any Post containing the least sap wiU be rejected. Tho Posts to be 20 feet long, 8 inches square at the butt, and 6 inches square at the top. The Posts to be delivered at points along the line, about 4 chains apart, which wiU be pointed out by the district inspector or his delegate, aud the line will generaUy follow the road or track from Tauranga to Maketu, and from Maketu to Rotorua and Taupo. Tenders to state the price per Post. Each Tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £10, as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each Tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the performance of the Contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Tenders to state within what period the Posts can be delivered, but the time must not extend beyond the 28th May, 1870. Tenders wiU be received either for sections of the work, or for the whole work, at the option of the tenderer. Further particulars can be obtained at the office1 of the District Inspector, Telegraph Office, Anokland. Tenders to be endorsed, " Tender for the Supply and Delivery of Telegraph Posts between Tauranga and Taupo," to be addressed "The District Inspector, Telegraph Department, Auckland, and to be sent in not later than noon on the llth AprU, 1870. For the accommodation of passengers arriving late at night from the Gold Fields, and others desirous of visiting the different places of amusement, a Night Omnibus will leave Onehunga at 7 p.m., and return at 11 o'clock the same night.
