DEPUTATION TO THE SUPERINTENDENT.
THIS morning a deputation, consisting of Messrs. Styak, Lloyd, Davis, Buffin, and Warinold, proceeded to the Provincial Goyernment Office for an interview with his Honor the Superintendent with regai'd to the extension of the Grahamstown wharf. They were informed that in consequence of illness, Mr. G-illies regretted his inability to meet them at present; but if they would place their views and request in writing, he would give the matter his best attention. The deputation requested Mr. Rice to communicate with His Honor at his residence in Epsom, and assure him of the urgency of the matter, and the necessity for a personal interview ; that they wanted no grant from the Provincial Treasury, but intended the work to be done by a company; and that their sole motive was the improvement of their own property and that of others in the neighbourhood. The deputation then withdrew.
