ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. AIREDALE.
The fine steamer Airedale, of the Circular Saw line, arrival in the Manukau this morning with a large cargo, as per imports. Captain Kennedy reports leaving the Bluff at 3.30 p.m., on the 25th of March," arriving at Port Chalmers at 6.30 a.m. 26th.". Coaled and took on board a large cargo for ports, and after shipping B0 passengers (14 of whom were for Honolulu), sailed on Sunday the 27th at 1.30 p.m. ; arrived at Lyttelton at 9 a.m. 28th, and at We_i__|;ton at 7.30 a.m. 20th, making a splendid' _Hu_ between the ports of 15 hours, or 12 knots per hour. Landed a large cargo, and after shipping English and Colonial mails and passengers, sailed at 1 a.m 30th, arriving at Picton wharf at 5.30 a.m., and afc Nelson at 5.15 p.m.,same ; day. Sailed at 4.40 p.m.■3oth, having hardhead winds first part of passage. At 2 a.m. 31st a 'terrific thunder cloud burst over the vessel, the lightning being very vivid. For the latter part- of the passage had moderate head winds, with northerly swell, arriving off Taranaki at 1 p.m. 31st. Lajided a large cargo, and took on board 300 bales flax, kerideg sundries. Had light S.W. winds til
