ENGLISH SHIPPING.
By the arrival of the English mail yesterday we have intelligence of the sailing of the fine barque Kate AVaters, and the ship Mary Shepherd, for this port. The former, in command of Captain Sherlock, took her departure on the 23rd January, and is consequently sixtythree days out, and may be expected here in about three weeks. The Mary Shepherd, in command of Captain Peek, took her departure on the 28th January, and should make her appearance shortly after the Rate Waters. She has the following passengers : -Ray. C. M. Nelson, Mr. E. H. Whitaker, Mr. H. de B. Bridge, Miss Hannah Moss, and twentyfive second and third class. The barque Cambodia, Captain P. Jones, had not arrived on the 26th. There were four other vessels loading for this port, one at London, two at Live.pool, and one at Glasgow ; all advertised to leave before the end of January. We give the following latest shipping items from the European Mail of the 28th January:— DEPARTURES. For Auckland. —Kate Waters, 580 tons, Sherlock, from Gl-ravesend, January 22, passed Deal on the 23rd ; Mary Shepherd, ship, Peek, from Gravescnd, January 28. For Otago. — Albatross, Thorsen, from Tonsberg and Plymouth, for Table Bay, November 24, put back on the 26th through stress of weather. For Wellington.—Gloucester, 526 tons, Butcher, from London, after repairs, and anchored in the Downs on January 5; put in at Portsmouth on the 14th, and sailed thence on the 18th.
