Chicago, February 2d.—Forty-one criminals were sentenced at the term of the Court at Joliefc this morning. A large crowd of ruffians and thieves, friends of the prisoners, congregated about the jail and followed the omnibuses conveying the convicts to the depot, but a strong force of police pevented any demonstration.

New Orleans, February 2.—News irom Mexico, via Brownsvill, Texas represents that the revolutionary party is daily strengthening. iN E"W York, February 2.—A despatch received at the Cuban headquarters reports 300 persons killed in Havana, January 31, by the Volunteers. A great fire took place in the negro quarter of Havana the same night. Toronto, February 2.—The Dominion Government has ordered the construction of & large number of boats, to be 36 feet long, six feet wide and three feet deep, for the purpose of sending men into Winnepeg settlement on the first opening of spring.
