The fine s.s. Hero, T. Logan, Esq., commander, arrived in harbour this morning from , Sydney, bringing the English telegrams. She left Sydney and cleared the Heads at 5.50 p.m. on the 16th instant; rounded the North Cape at 5.45 p m. on the 24th, and arrived iv Auckland harbour at 6.20 a.m. on the 25th. She experienced strong easterly winds and thick dirty weather, head sea and accompanied with rain, until the 19th, when it increased to a ottle with strong squalls and a tremendous SCO. On the 21st weather more moderate, but a heavy head sea continuing with occasional ftrong squalls and showers of rain until the 23rd, when, at midnight, made the Three Kings ; from thence light variable winds and fine weather with smooth water till arrival in hai'bour, having anchored under Eanigtoto until daylight this morning. The lighter ITearnaught, a useful vessel of 50 tons register, is advertised to let, particulars to be had of Mr. Niccol, agont.

We understand that the p.s. Luna will leave the harbor this evening, in command of Captain Fairchild, for the East Coast.

Tattkanga.—The s.s. Taurauga returned from Tanranga this morning, having loft on the previous evening at 4.30. She experienced light S. and S.E. winds with heavy rain. Passengers —Messrs. Chadwick, lv Torris, Major Main, and 30 others.

The schooner Ivanhoe, from Mongouui, brings 14 tcm3 gum and 5,000 feet sawn timber for Me3srs. Owen & Grvaham. Passengers— Messrs. Yate3, Hall, Elder, and Grover. The American whaler Louisa, 10 months out, had arrived with 200 barrels oil.
