The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— Grass Seeds.—Christchurch — Holders of rye grass are anxious sellers, and -would accept 4s 3d for well dresaed camples, but at the moment buyers are not forthcoming. The supply will, probably be unusually heavy, though' it is doiiMfnl if any large quantity willbe available in time for early autumn sowing, in which case present rates may be maintained until the end of February, after which the prices will depend upon the cost of threshing, c'e.ining. and deliveiing. The cocksfoot crop will likewise be an abundant one, and last season's rates mubt not be expected. We bear of contracts being mado at 4d.. delivery at tho Bays; but growers ara prepared to accept less money, provided the time for delivery is not too strii'gent.
