CORN EXCHANGE.
Report for the week ending Friday evening, the 17th November :—The preceding week having been entirely taken up by the holidays, business in the grain trade was almost entirely suspended. The present has not developed much activity, indeed the fulfilling of local demands is the only business stirring. Wheat—Tho extreme quietness which has prevailed has made a depressing tendency, and values may be quoted as a shade easier. Prime milling samples, 4s 4d to 4s 6d per bushel ; second quality, 4s ; chick wheat, 3s 6d to 3s 8d per bushel. Oats—The locml demand has been somewhat brisker. Values are not materially altered but are firm, and good short milling quality, 3s 4d to 3s 5d , feed, 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel. Potatoes—The demand has sensibly slackened ; holders are still, however, asking £5 10.i to £G per ton. Cheese and butter—The former is worth, for old Bd, new Gd ; tho latter, 8d to Bid per lb.
