PROSPEROUS.
There certainly seems to be nothing to grumble at regarding the present prospects of the Peninsula farmers. Fat cattle are from 27s to 28s per cwt at the yards at Adding ! :on. Sheep are higher than they have been for a long time, owing to the starting of the freezing companies. Crossbred wool seems to be again steadily rising in price, and in spite of the advancement of the scnsmi, dairy produce is still at the high rates it reached daring the past winter. The cocksfoot grass seed market will probably open at remunerative rates, and as to the feed, the weather seems mad.' on purpose to show how grass can grow when it is humored. These flourishiiu prospects arc owing no doubt to a variety of causes, but we think the principal one i the successful establishment of the frozen meat trade. The late drought in Australia has no doubt influenced the price of dairy produce, and we suppose it is cipricious fashion that has again made combing long wools dearer.
However, he the causes what they may, we have great reason to congratulate ourselves, and we hope that this access of pros jerity will lead to the consideration of many matters for our joint benefit, which in sterner times would not be spoken of.
