The pntveyor'fi report wa.s considered. It wits resolved that the offer of Sidney Ilniriss to allow the Hoard to cart shingle jDm the c-eek through his paildock, free of charge, lie accepted, and that the -iilerk enrry out the work, as well as attend to repairs to culverts on hill road, &c, It was further .resolved that the cleik be iiulhorisKl to have some metal broken at €oops quarry, not to exceed a fixed price per ynrd, as well as to arrange for carting Moulders to be uyed as abutment wabs to a snew bridge proposed to be erected in Western Valley. It wae further resolved that the Clerk and Chairman point out to Mr MeAitiiey, contractor, what parts of the Tai Tiipu and Lincoln road it is desirable to ■reform. Also, that white lead paint and •oil be obtained, with a view to p.iinting band railingn, &c, of bridges in the district ; applications to do ihu work to be received by the (Jliairinan and Clerk. section 4264.
It was resolved iliat the Chief Surveyor be requested to forward plan, iv.c , of the road diverted through section 4264, &>■., an Liltle River, if rwady, as the Board is anxious to have the exchange finally com(pieted. CORUESPOXDENCK. Correspondence was teceived i'rom the Springs Road Board, requesting lo be informed it this 3oard is willing to pay an •equal portion of the preliminary expenses of taking levels and otherwise reporting on the best method of. improving the drainage of the river Ilalswell. et<\ Resolved—" That this Board is willing to contribute equally with the Springs, the Lincoln, and the Halswell Boards." From Mr G. R. Joblin, granting permission to cart shingle from his property at Little River, to be used on Western Valley road. ; NEW ROAD BOARD OFFICE.
