It is now oilicially announced that Lieutenant-General Sir Garnet Woiseley and Vice-Admiral Sir Beauchamp Seymour are to bo raided to the Peerage for their services in Egypt.

A despatch has been received from Sir Garnet Wolsoiey stating that the Khedive has expressed the warmest gratitude to the nation for the, assistance rendered during the crisis. The despatch further states that a gr.-<ud r-view of the British tioops will be held at Cairo on Saturday next.

The Khedive, accompanied by his ministers and Sir E. P.. Miiet. Biilish Consul General, arrived at Cairo to-day. The city is brilliantly decorated, and will be illuminated to-night in honour of tbe British success in Egypt.
ft has transpired that the Khedive with the approval of England, has invited Baker Pasha to undertake the reorganization of tho Egyptian army. The task has been accepted by Colonel Baker.

The Khedive hel 1 a crowded re eption to-day at the Palace at Cairo. His Highness took occasion during ihe reception to rebuke the IPemas meddling in political matters during the recent crisis.
Baker Pasha, who has undertaken the reorgauizitfon of the Lgyi>ti'n army, will give appointment* to ali British officers now serving in the Turki-h gendarmes. It is probab'e that the vacancies in the Imperial Ottoman service will be filled by Genu'in oili. ers.
Sir Garnet Wo'aeley is indisposed ; his illness is not, however, reported to be of a serious nature.
Constantinople, September 26. The Porte has presented a note to the British Ambassador with reference to the present position of affairs in Egypt, asking what i>tepH tlie British Government purpose to take tor tbe withdrawal of tbe troops whose services are no longer needed in that country.
