LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

To the ttditor.

Sir, —Will you adow me through your valuabe paper to inqiire whether anything his happ'iiel to Little River Ro id B >nrd or not, as I begin to think tint they must all have got hist in that dreadful bog up the *vest in Valley road, that they w-.-re in such distress abut, or else surely they would not forget the E-istem Valiey altogether, as they have done. I was to have a road made, so that I could get to my place with wire for fencing, so that I could get it in working order; hut here I am this year just as b idly off as I was four years ago, Like the hare and the tortoise, they were in too great a hurry at first, and so fell asleep by the way. Now, Mr Editor, could you tell me if it is not possible for me to come on the Board for loss sustained through the Board not giving me a road ? They never forget where I live when they want the rates, but still I receive no benefit for them. I think it is very hard on a poor fellow to he kept out of what he has paid for. They wid not do the work themselves, and they keep the Council from giving me justice, because they promise to do it but they never intend to perform, if they can get off without. I beg you will pardon me for taking up so much of your paper.—Yours, etc., ROBT. A. STEWART. Barry's Bay, Sept. 13 1882.
