lloiiri JSo»r«l Notices THE PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD hereby give notic to all to whom it may concern that it is prot'os -1, under the "Public Works Act, 187(5," te> take the Land hereinafter more 1 particularly described, for the purpose of a I'ublic Highway, and that a plan showing the said proposed road is now deposited for inspection at the Office of the said Road Board, situate at Pigeon Bay, and that in pursuance of the said Act the said plan is open for inspection by all persons ; and the said Road Board hereby calls upon all persons affected to set forth in writing any well grounded objection to the taking of such Land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Chairman of the said Pigeon Bay Road Board. Any present trustee may transfer the management of trust property to the Pu lie Trustee, who will thereupon hold such property upon the original trusts attaching thereto. Any person, company, association, or public body within or without the colony, ni'iy place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon tru-4 for such uses as may be defined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules, provide that property belonging to it may be placed in th.* Public Trust Office, for such trusts nnd uses and with such powers as may b' defined in or by the saiel rules. The advantages offered are : — Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud, or dishonesty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Honorable Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered it is therefore insured. 3rd. The Public Trustee, in his corporate capacity, never dies, never LEAVES THE COUNTRY, and NEVBR BECOMES incapacitated, thus avoiding the many inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of Trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of p nodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of tbe colony oi elsewhere at which it may be desired that payment should be made. sth. The effctive check which is called into operation before any moneys can be paid from the Public Trustee's account. 6th. Reasonable charges : On estates such as arc-now being considered the Public Trus'ee is authorised te, charge 11 per cent, on all rccepts, and 1-1 per cent, on disbursments, and 5s per cent, on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamp and property tax returns, nor for correspondence, however voluminous. Thus the saving to" estates placed in this office is considerable.
