SEALED tenders will be received at the Chief Post-office, Christehurch, until Saturday, the 9th September proximo, for the conveyance of Mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of tw:> years from the Ist January, 1888, to 31st December, 1884. *6. Lyttelton and Pigeon Bay, thrice weekly. *7. Pigeon Bay and Akaroa, thrice weekly.* *8. Birdling's Flat and Akaroa, thrice weekly. 9. Lyttelton and Port Levy, weekly. 10. Lyttelton and Gebbie's Flat, weekly. 11. Lyttelton and Gebbie's Flat, twice weekly. 12. Lyttelton and Ohinetahi, twice weekly. 13. Rabbit Island, Railway Station, Gebbie's Flat, and Governor's Bay, twice weekly. 15. Duvauchelle, Okain's Bay, and Little Akaloa., twice weekly. 16. German Bay and Le Bon's Bay, twice weekly. 17. German Bay and Le Bon's Bay, thrice weekly. 18. Akaroa and Wainui, weekly, 19. Barry's Bay and Wainui, thrice weekly. * Services may be affected by railway extiiision, and may be terminated by the Postmaster-General on his giving one month's notice in writing. The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the following clause of the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender-forms : '•' The days and hours of arrival and departure to be fixed from time to time as the Postmaster-General may direct. For services performed by coach, no stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special permission from the PostmasterGeneral, who shall determine whether or not longer sta :es are unavoidable." Contractors whose tenders may be accepted must be prepared to cany out the services for which they tender according to the tirae-tables fraiiied by the department. Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract, may be procured at any Post office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form. Tenders endorsed " Tender for Mail Service, No. ," to-be addressed &o *he Postmaster-General, Wellington, and enclosed to the Chktf Postmaster, Ohristchm , h. W. GRAY, Secretary. ANY person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under his will or codicil. ■ ) Any present trustee may transfer the management of trust property to the Pu ; lie Trustee, who will thereupon hold such property upon the original trusts attaching thereto. Any .person, company, association, or public body within or the colony, imy place any property b-l-ng-ing to them ir. charge of the Pubiic Trustee upon tru-t for such uses as may be defined in tho doe-! creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendlysociety may, by its rules, provide that property belonging , to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. The advantages offered are : — Ist. State Guafsanter against peculation, fraud, or dishoivsty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Honorable Co'oninl Treasurer, the Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered it is therefore insured. 3rd. The Public Trustee, in his corporate capacity, n-kveii diks, nkvek LEAVKS THE COUNTUY, and XEVRIt P.EcoiiKS incapacitated, thus avoiding the many, inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of Trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of p riodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of the colony or elsewhere at vrLi.rii it m:iy be desired that payment should be made. Gth. Reasonable charges : On estates such as ore now being considered the Public Tens' cc is authorised to charge per cent, on all rocepts, and 1|- per cent, on di.sbursments, r nd 0 s percent, on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamp and property tax returns, nor for correspondence, however voluminous.
