Specifications at Brooks' Hill Top Hotel, Bruce's Hotel, Akaroa, and Mr Lee's, Head of the Bay. Tenders to be in by Tuesday, the 20th instant, addressed to WILLIAM COOP, Little River. August 19th, 1882. SEALED tenders will be received at the Chief Post-office, Christchurch, until Saturday, the 9th September proximo, for the conveyance of Mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of two, years from the Ist January, 1883, to 31st December, 1884. *6. Lyttelton and Pigeon Bay, thrice weekly. *7. Pigeon Bay and Akaroa, thrice weekly. *S. Birdling's Flat and Akaroa, thrice weekly. 9. Lyttelton and Port Levy, weekly. 10. Lyttelton and Gebbie's Flat, weekly. 11. Lyttelton and GeWie's Flat, twice weekly. 12. Lyttelton and Ohinetahi, twice weekly. 13. Rabbit Island, Railway Station, Gebbie's Flat, and Governor's Bay, twice weekly. 15. Duvauchlle, Okain's Bay, and Little Akaloa, twice weekly. 16. German Bay and Le Bon's Bay, twice weekly, 17. German Bay and Le Bon's Bay, thrice weekly. 18. Akaroa and Wainui, weekly. 19. Barry's Bay and Wainui, thrice weekly. * Services may be affected by railway extrusion, and may be terminated by the Postmaster-General on his giving one month's notice in writing. The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the following clause of the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender-forms : " The days and hours of arrival and departure to be fixed from time to time as the Postmaster-General may direct. For strvices performed by coach, no stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special permission from the PostmasterGeneral, who shall determine whether or not longer stages are unavoidable." Contractors whose tenders may be accepted must be prepared to carry out the services for which they tender according to the time-tables framed by the department. Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract, may be procured at any Post office. No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form. Tenders endorsed " Tender for Mail Service, No. ," to be addressed to the Postmaster-GeneraL Wellington, and enclosed to the Chu-f Postmaster, Christchur fa. W. GRAY, Secretary. PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE OF NEW ZEALAND. ANY person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under his will or codicil. Any present trustee may transfer the management of trust property to the Puilio Trustee, who will thereupon hold such property upon the original trusts attaching thereto. Any person, company, association, or public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon tru-it for smeh uses as i«aj be defined in the deed creating tho trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules, provide that property belonging to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. Ine advantages offered are :— Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, liaud, or dishonesty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Honorable Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney General, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered it is therefore insured. 3rd. The Public Trustee, in his corporate capacity, never dies, never LEAVES THE COUNTRY, and NEVER BECOMES incapacitated, tlius avoiding the many inconveniences resulting from frequent fresh appointments of Trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of p riodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of the colony or elsewhere at which may be desired that payment should be made. 6th. Reasonable charges : On estates fiucliasare now being considered the Public Trustee is authorised to charge per cent, on all recepts, and 1-J per ceut. on disbursments, and 5s per cent, on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamp and property tax returns, nor for correspondence, however voluminous. Thus the saving to estates placed in this office is considerable.
