The lords came down en uia-sae and •-.-filled, tlic-ir gallery. The ladies were so cro.wded th.it they could not do their "nsual needlework. The strangers and speakers galleries were both over crowded. Mr Siitton spoka against the motion and Messrs Biithgate and Deiatour againet th Q
Government. At- the commencement of tho debate the Opposition did all they could to come to a division to-night, hut it wns soon seen that members wanted to have their say. Ah to Ministers appealing to the country if they are beaten, it is generally held by authorities that a reference to the constituents could ho reasonably demanded, and not constitutionally refused. Present appearances, however, do not favor the probability that a dissolution may occur. The Government claim a majority of six ; the Opposition have ticked off forty five, and are hopeful of obtaining five out of ten, who are looked upon as being on a rail. BREACH OF PROMISE CASE.
