LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held on the 7th inst. Present —Messrs E. A. Forbes (Chairman), T. H. Parkinson, F. Bulling and J. Judge MINUtKS. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. INTERVIEWS. Mr R. Manson waited on the Beard re a Toad lending through Price's Valley to hie land. It was resolved that the Clerk and Mr Birdling accompany Mr Manson, with a view to try to find where said road leads through the bush adjoining ffcservd 1231. Honi Peri (native) also waited on the B aid re shingle lately carted by him to the main road, and which the Board ref ueed to pay for, as it was not equal to epecifieatioti. It was resolved that he be allowed is 3d per yard instead of 2s 6d ac per tender. ROAD METALLING. It waa resolved that some loads of metal from the Aliurin Quarry be carted to the main road leading from Bamett'a house at Tai Tapu, to fill in rute; also, that some boulders be carted to the (largest of the rute on Like Foreyth road, j and broken therein, and the fhingle fiorn the creek in Miori Jack's paddock utilised on the road, as well ac a small culvert put in adjoining the pound at Little River, WESTERN TALLEr ROA©. Willi regard to the Western Valley road, the deputation from the Board lately inspecting it considers that something is ■necessary to l>e done in the way of repairing it. It waa therefore resolved that all the available metal to be found along the upper part of this road be carted on to the worst plaeea, as far as the funds at the ■disposal of the Board will permit; and that the work t>e postponed till better weather stts in. TENDERS. TwO tenders were received for painting Biand rails to three bridges in Little River, and that of 3. Reynolds, at £1 5a was jaccopttfd, work to be postponed for better weather. 'CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was received — Prom the Akaroa County Council re •drai ing the lagoons at Ahuriri, but as 'the proposal of the Selwin County Council •on the matter has not been forwarded, no action was taken in the matter by this Boird. From Messrs Harper and Harper re the signing by Mr Morton of deed of transfer of Ahuriri diversion road. It wae resolved ithat Messrs Harper be informed thia Board as willing to pay for fhe fencing on eaid road according to the Government scale; end that in regard to cloeing Hill road, •etc,, it ie a matter.for future consideration, .end entirely foreign to the subject atiswue. The Clerk and Mr Parkinson reported Slaving interviewed the Commissioner of ■Crown lands re stoppage of road leading ito section 21793 aa well as the Boards grievances generally consequent on original surveys in this district.
