OKAIN'S BAY ROAD BOARD.
: The monthly meeting of this Board was held at the Itodd Board cilice on Saturday, •the 29th July. Present—Messrs J. E. Thacker (in the chair), T. Oldridge, and W. Thacker. The minutes and accounts of the previous meeting , being confirmed, a large budget of correspondence was disposed of. Outward—To Mr W. Barnett, asking him to remove some fencing causing, obstruction to the public road. To. Mr Thacker* -'"with the same request. Inward—From, Mr W. Baniett, stating that he had removed the fences complained of. From Mr J. D. Eny's, Springfield, re railway tariff reduction. From Messrs Wise, Cailin, & Co., publishers, Dunodm. From Mr Thacker, complaining of Mr Callnghan having enclosed a road lending to three of his sections, and thereby depriving him of the use of the same, and aski'ig the Board to have the roads in question opened. It was resolved that Mr Cfillaghan bewrillcn to. requesting him to remove nil obstru- tions he ni.iy have on the roads. The Chairman stated that he h;»d accepted tenders fiom Moore Bros, for three contracts on Main Vidley rond, Okain's, No.'l £19, No. 2 £17, No. 3 £10, but, on mature reflection, would suggest that the specification for contract No. 1 bo amended, ;ind fresh tenders called for. This course''was finully agreed on. Mr wailed on the Board, calling attention to the Big Hill road. The Chairman was authorised to inspect this road, and, if necessary, call for tenders for repairs. The following accounts were passed for payment, a.id the Board adjourned :—II. Elliott, day work, £3 10s ; B. Jargensen, contract, £4 10s ; Fliitey & Condtn, day work, £1 Ss ; J. Oldridge, do, 14s ; H. C. Jacobson, printing, £2 13s 3d ; T. Ware, on account bridge contract, £20 ; C. Moore, stumps and stationery, £3 10s Od ; Jansen & Knight, contract, £5 ; Messrs Williams & Deacon, £14 ss; J. Moffatt, day work, £2 ; S. Harris, do, 10s (3d ; J. Harris, do, 7s.
