THEM WHARF CHARGES. To the Editor.
Mr Editor, —I hear that your aro a new chum in these parts, and as I've read what you said in the paper about clurging folk, I think I can give you the straight tip about them chaps as makes the rules I believe you called them one time before the fathers, but I think when you did that you were wide of the mark, but now you call them sages. I think that's what tliem Greek chaps was called, lint from my soul you havo over-shot the mark this time, cause you have made the comparison odious. If they wej_ sages they would havo made the hiw of charges to t>e;.r equally upon everyone as used tho wnarf, and not put a bis charge upon a sma'l part of them that uses it, to make them pay iV the lot. Well, I think ibis aint no ciedit to them senitois; but when you called them Fathers, which I take is making us pretty clone relations, it is very bad indeed, as they have shown a onesided liking for a part of their family, in making a law that a small part of their family must work and pay for the rest, because they live on tother side of the bay, and fetches their things in a boat. But Sir, whether ihey are senators or fathers, I know they lives in dealing with us cockatoos, and charges pretty good prices for their things, so if they wish for us to continue with them they must put us all equal ; and what's more, we don't grumble at paying, cause tho wharf must he kept up ; and what I say is, let every one as uses it pay; and then we shall have enough money to keep it in order and make it longer, so that the big steamers can come. But perhaps our fathers are greedy, and think they have a right to what they call per centage upon our things,—Youis, etc., COCKATOO.
P.S. —Its no use us chaps being too quiet, so I shall go for our fathers about the cattle driving.
