WOOL, GRASS SEED, AND DAIRY PRODUCE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report on the Produce Markets for the week ending July 6, as follows:— Wool —The second series of wool sales closed in London on June 29 ; 27,000 bales were held over for future disposal. Superior merino phowed an advance of £d lo Id on the opening rates ; whilst coarse, rough, heavy crosa-breds had declined id to lfd. For fine cross-bred there was a good demand at unchanged rates. The next series commence on August 24, when ebout 36,000 bales will be offered. Gsase Seed —An improving enquiry denotes an early spring demand. Cocksfoot sella at sd, and rye-grass at 4s 6d to 5b 3d, according to quality and dressing. Potatoes—Transactions in \\\ie tuber are on a most restricted scale, nor can any improvement be expected until outside markets recover from the present plethora of stocks. Dairy Produce—Owing to the Australian demand having subsided, butter is not quite so firm, and prices are slightly easier, Is Id to 13 2ri being the current rate for butter. Cheese meets with inquiry ai 7d f.o.b.
