Walsh, an Irishman who was recently arrested at Olerkenwell in connection with the seizure of arms at that place, waa brought up at the Police Court yesterday on a charge of high treason and committed for trial. Mr Morris Read (Surrey) was highest scorer with 90. Mr W. E. Gilbert (Gloucestershire) scored 38. Being 334 runs behind their opponents, the United South followed on, but only scored 72 in their second innings, and the Australians thus won the match iv one innings, with 263 runs to spare.
