PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.

An adjourned meeting of this Board was he'd on Saturday, June 10th, in the Board's office. MINUTES. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read— From Okain's Buy Road Board, requesting the Board to co-operate with a view to framing a uniform reply to the Government circular re local government. The Clerk was directed to inform them that thts Board had already agreed on a reply. From the Colonial Secretary, with circular as above. From Mr Wilkins, of Akaroa, with plan and specification of road through Holmes' Bay. . 4 The Clerk was directed to send the plan to Mr Holmes for his approval. From Mr Paton, sen., requesting the I Bonrd to express its opinion as to the width of road ever likely to be required at his plucs. From the surfaceman, giving monthly report. ACCOUNTS. The Board passed accounts to the amount of £94 153 2d. TBE BATE. On the motion of Mr Paton, eeconded by Mr Hay, it was resolved that a rate of 9d in the £ be struck for the current year, to be payable in one instalment on the Ist dtiy of October next. LEFT TO THE CHAIRMAN. The Chairman was authorised to pay £5 on account to Mr Upton, if he should desire it. He was also authorised to gel Mr Gunning, with two drays, to spread metal on the road, if he agreed to do so for £1 a diiy. If he should not agree to tho pay, the Chairman was requested to call for tenders. The Board then adjourned.
