Mr o. A. Cookßon, British Consul at this city, who was seriously wounded during the disturbances which occurred on the 10th inst., is improving in health. The Imperial Turkish Commission is still negotiating with the national party with a view to effect a settlement of the political crisis. Arabi Pasha at present remains master of the situation. He has, however, during the interviews with Dervish Pasha, promised the latter that he will obey the commands of the Khedive, and maintain order among the natives. The Khedive, accompanied by the Chief of the Turkish Commission (Dervish Pasha) has left Cairo for this city.
